Benefit to Customer: Electrical shocks in the homes have been greatly reduced with the installation of GFCI devices. New and remodeled homes are now regulated to include GFCI protection in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry areas, garages, basements, pools and areas where water is present and may come in contact with electrical apparatus.

* Confirm AFCI operation.

Benefit to Customer: AFCI breakers sense low resistance in circuits that can be causing fire related issues. Current code requires new homes to have AFCI breakers protecting bedroom and sleeping areas. Verifying proper operation is critical for reducing fire risks in sleeping areas.
